Dan Hartley, President

Before become president of ORANJ in 2009 Dan demonstrated his leadership at the state level with two projects sponsored by ORANJ. The first was the 2006 survey of CCRC meal credit practices, which grew out of his concern about the meal credit system at WG and his attempts to create more efficient dining services with a computerized system that combines food ordering and inventory management. The second was a 2009 survey of money saving practices at all CCRCs who are members of ORANJ. His report touched on a wide variety of efforts including energy related items such as, installation of solar panels, improving operations such as group purchasing, issues relating to staff levels such as combining duties, and general matters such as lowering outside entertainment costs.

Dan brings to the job his strong executive skills demonstrated in his 42 year career with Exxon Research and Engineering. After his retirement Dan renewed his flying license, joined a flying club in Morristown and flew medical rescue flights around Pennsylvania, New York and New Jersey.
