Dot Treney, Secretary-Treasurer

In the five years since moving to Fellowship Village, Dot has made a lot of new friends. For recreation she plays duplicate bridge and for exercise she takes part in pool aerobics and walks around the grounds when the weather is nice. In 2009 she was elected Secretary/Treasurer of ORANJ and is still getting set up and “learning the ropes.”

Dot is a native of Summit, NJ and attended Brown University. She studied in France as a junior at the Sorbonne. Her first job was with the American embassy in Paris. Eventually she moved back to the States and received an MA in French literature from Rutgers. Her husband is French and she has 3 sons and 4 grandchildren.

Dot spent most of her life teaching French at the HS and college level. After retirement, she volunteered as an ESL teacher and served on the Board of Trustees at the Summit Area Community School.
