Mel
Williams,
Chair, Finance Committee
After
moving to Cedar Crest in 2004, Mel Williams became active in
the Residents Association.
During his 3-year term on
The Residents Association Council (RAC) he was chair at different
times of the Marketing, General
Services and Finance Committees. After completing his term on
the RAC, he was asked to serve on the Finance Committee of ORANJ
and
appointed its Chair in 2009.

As a CPA Mel
spent his working career first as a partner in a small accounting firm
and then
as Chief Financial Officer
of a large construction company. Mel and his wife,who is also a resident
of Cedar Crest, raised two children, yet Mel still found time for volunteer
work. As a docent for
the
New York
Botanical
Gardens for 20 years, he was credited with more than 300 volunteer
hours per year for many of my years. He also volunteered
for 15 years as a Cornell University Master Gardener.
