ORANJ Mission Statement

The Organization of Residents Associations of New Jersey exists for the purpose of supporting, empowering, and bettering the life of senior citizens in New Jersey. We accomplish this mission by:

  • Facilitating communication among member Residents Associations on matters of common interest and concern
  • Keeping abreast of developments in the world of Senior Citizens
  • Coordinating action on behalf of the rights and responsibilities of residents
  • Monitoring and seeking to influence the enactment and enforcement of laws and regulations that pertain to residents of Continuing Care Retirement Communties (CCRCs) in New Jersey

Supporting Goals and Strategies

I. Communications and Interchange

  • Sharing experiences among members
  • Resourcing learning and education
  • Sharing models of effective communications with CCRC providers

  • Monitoring legislation and advocacy
  • Raising resident awareness

III. Networking with Ally Organizations

  • NJ Association of Non-Profit Homes for the Aging (NJANPHA)
  • American Association of Homes and Services for the Aging (AAHSA)
  • National Continuing Care Residents Associations (NaCCRA)

IV. Fostering the Growth of ORANJ

  • Making ORANJ better known among residents
  • Welcoming newly certified CCRCs
  • Using membership expertise in active committees
