Highlights of the July newsletter

The July Issue of The ORANJ Tree has been archived on our Publications page. The direct link is here.

The presidents of the residents associations of Cadbury, Franciscan Oaks, and the Fountains of Cedar Parke provided articles about the change in ownership at their CCRCs. Cadbury and Franciscan Oaks changed ownership in May and June of this year. The Fountains of Cedar Parke was sold in October 2013.

Paul Basham’s charming article about the April Plenary was on page one, moving Ron Whalin’s President’s message back to page two.

Ron’s message, among other things, reported on Ombudsman Jim McCracken’s remarks at the April Plenary meeting of ORANJ. Mc Cracken had met with New Jersey LANE (Local Area Network for Excellence), is part of a larger collaborative called Advancing Excellence in America’s Nursing Homes.  McCracken said that at the end of the meeting, the only thing they could agree on is change, that change is accelerating. Experts are having difficulty grasping where the industry is going.
