2013 – Bill of Rights for Independent CCRC Residents

The website of the New Jersey Long-Term Care Ombudsman details the rights of Independent Living Residents. CCRCs are required to display a poster detailing the rights. The Bill of Rights for Independent CCRC Residents was established by the 2013 Amendment to P.L.1986 c.103 (NJ website).

The Bill of Rights for Independent CCRC residents built on previous legislation establishing rights for residents in assisted living and nursing homes. Because CCRCs provide for residents in assisted living and long term care, these rights are also relevant to CCRCs.

The NJ Ombudsman’s website details the rights of Assisted Living residents. These rights were established by chapter law in April 20, 2011.

The NJ Ombudsman’s website details the rights of Nursing Home residents. These rights were established by the July 15, 2008, amendment to the 1976 law.
