Mary Lou started her education at Bergen Community College, finished her BSN at Felician College, and earned her MA at Columbia. For most of her professional life, she worked at the Pascack Valley Hospital in Westwood, NJ, doing everything from working in the surgical and medical departments to designing educational tools and teaching others to use computers.
Later she taught at Ocean County College, teaching basic clinical education to website development. Before retiring, she worked at Holy Redeemer Home Care and Hospice, working directly with hospice patients at home.
She is a seamstress, quilter, enjoys cooking, and is well versed in computers. More importantly to Mary Lou, she has been married 60 years, has two children, whose careers make her very proud, and five grandchildren.
She resides at Pines Village and serves on its Residents Council as its vice-president.
