At least three New Jersey CCRCs have honey bee hives. This week one CCRC began releasing tagged butterflies. More about these butterflies and bees in the next issue of The ORANJ Tree. If your CCRC is doing things you’d like to share, please let us know at oranjnewsletter@gmail.com.
The butterflies have been tagged so that their migration pattern can be tracked as they travel south. Participating in this tagging helps to encourage further interest as to migratory patterns as well as helps to study the habitats that are required to help the survival of the monarch butterflies.
