Barbara Trought called the meeting to order at 10:00 AM. Close Caption is available by selecting the icon at the bottom of your screen. Barbara reminded all that the next ORANJ Plenary Meeting will be on October 18, 2023, at Monroe Village. Registration Deadline 9/15/2023.
A question concerning calculation of annual dues by members to ORANJ was discussed. The dues notice asks for dues based on the number of occupied independent living units.
1-249 occupied units $120
250-449 occupied units $240
500 or more occupied units $360
Some residents associations include all residents as members, and some include only independent living residents. It is suggested that each community review its residents association bylaws to determine the requirements for membership in its association. Please report that information to Maggie so a tabulation of results may be made and distributed.
The registration deadline is September 15. Wendy noted that few have been received so far. The attendees were asked for status in their respective communities. The majority reported that “the form and check are the mail.” It’s true, they were!
Now, on September 19, when this recap is being edited for posting to the blog, registrations from the 23 associations that will be attending have been received. Monroe Village has 120 spaces in the auditorium, and they will be filled.
Next ORANJ Zoom conversation will be on Wednesday October 11, 2023, at 10 am.

I don’t understand the “calculation of annual dues my members” numbers.
Oranj dues are either $120, $240, or $360 a year. Small communities pay have few members of their residents associations and so they pay $120. Large Communities like Cedar Crest have many residents and they pay $360.

Association membership depends on the $20 annual dues being paid. Membership is open to both Independent Living and Health Center residents.
